  • Ah, disagree away, but I will be victorious. Any minus it gets from taste, it makes up for by being open at 4 am. Which would you suggest?

  • Agree completely about Pizza Mart & Paradiso. Those are the two competing platonic ideals of pizza: greasy, horrible and great or delicious and elegant. Most of the stuff in between is boring.

  • Good lord! That’s pathetic. I understand it’s hard to find any decent food at 4 in the morning, but you should have higher standards during daylight hours. Ever had Vace’s pizza? Two Amy’s? Matchbox? Sorriso? There is life beyond Pizza Mart.

  • sadly, i can only offer unconstructive criticism when it comes to pizza. i think the last pizza i had was actually a face-sized pizza mart slice, a year-and-a-half ago. i do agree that when drunk at 4am, it’s tough to beat. though if you’re driving home to the ‘burbs, Mario’s in Arlington is up there in my book as well.

  • Or what about Alberto’s on P Street? A great compromise of superthin crispy crust, good fresh ingredients and the price a pizza pie should be, unlike the fru-fru places.

  • Alberto’s is good, but currently out of the running, due to being close for 3-6 weeks for fire. Plus, while they’re good, their pizzas don’t have the same ‘after drunken’ goodness that pizza mart has.

  • immediate disqualification to ljk for mentioning mario’s! You cannot just use your (bad) ragu as tomato sauce on a pizza. Seriously, that stuff is some of the worst pizza I’ve ever had.

  • (eek). don’t DQ me. i just have really low standards when drunk. you should see some of the guys i meet…. =P
